Pets come in three main types:

- Land: Walk on the ground. They temporarily disappear when you go airborne or underwater.

- Float: Hover above the ground and water. They also disappear when you go airborne.

- Fly: These pets can follow you wherever you go.

(Note: Some pets, such as the Horned Pegasus, can change their type. Normally they are land types, but they can fly when ridden.)
